Job Description:
As the Assistant Manager Finance & Accounts at Christel House India, you will play a key role in supporting the finance department to ensure effective financial management and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the Manager – Finance & Accounts to oversee accounting processes, manage financial data, and support decisionmaking through accurate financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
2. Management Information Systems (MIS): Support the Finance Manager in developing and monitoring MIS to provide timely and relevant financial information for strategic decision-making. Support in designing reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
3. Budget Management: Support the Finance Manager in developing and monitoring organizational budgets. Track budget variances and provide analysis to identify areas of concern or improvement.
4. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable
processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and donor receipts. Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
5. Payroll Processing: Coordinate payroll processing activities, including salary calculations, deductions, and tax compliance. Ensure payroll accuracy and timely disbursement of salaries to staff members.
6. Donor Management: Maintain donor records and assist in preparing donor reports as required. Collaborate with the Fundraising team to ensure accurate recording and reporting of donations.
7. Bank-related Activities: Oversee bank- related activities, including reviewing payments before processing vendor payments. Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal financial policies.
8. Audit and Compliance: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
9. Software Management: Utilize accounting, payroll, and donor management software to maintain financial records, generate reports, and streamline processes. Ensure proficiency in various software applications used by the finance department.
Requirements and Skills:
Proven work experience as an Accountant, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
Excellent knowledge of accounting software, preferably Tally Prime, for efficient financial management.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification is preferred.
8-10 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in the non-profit sector.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
Proficiency in payroll software, and donor management systems.
Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel for data analysis (Vlookup, pivot tables, etc.,) and PowerPoint for reporting.
Knowledge of Indian accounting standards and taxation laws.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
